Who’s the New Kid Review & Giveaway

Who's the New Kid Who’s the New Kid? is a book that intrigued me from the moment I saw the cover. I was drawn to the story of Breanna, a nine year old girl who was obese. The book is written by Breanna’s mother Heidi Bond. Heidi puts into detail the struggle that they as a family went through: the reality that Breanna had a problem with food and that her little brother was following suit, the taunting at school, and the difficulty of finding the combination of diet and exercise that would help Breanna.

Just OneThe book talks specifically about people in their lives who hindered them, and people who crossed their paths and gave them inspiration. It’s a testament for how we all should be loving, encouraging, and supportive of those who have weight issues.

In the back of the book are quite a lot of recipes that the family adopted, strategies for exercising, information about daily calorie intake for children, BMI information, and charts to help you if you would like to develop your own plan for dieting and exercise.

Heidi’s entire family changed their way of eating and became more active, and the result was excellent. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has or has had someone in the family who has struggled with weight issues. Their story will encourage you!
