When Calls the Heart

a series on the Hallmark Channel, is one of my favorite television series on right now. Set in the Canadian west, this story, based on a book series by Janette Oke, features cultured teacher Elizabeth who has moved to Coal Valley to teach the children of the coal miners. Elizabeth has had a prosperous upbringing, so the relocation is a bit difficult for her to adjust to.

She has no plans to fall in love with any of the men of the town, but finds it hard to not become friends with Wynn Delaney, a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He’s so likeable and trustworthy . . . and supportive. What’s not to like?

My husband and I watch this series weekly when it’s airing. When Season 1 ended, we were anxious for the premiere. When I received an invitation to preview the premiere of Season 2, I jumped on it!

And, oh, is it good! I’m not allowed to give you spoilers, because the premiere is in TWO DAYS, and I’m having a hard time writing this without telling you some juicy stuff! Let me just say that Elizabeth finds herself torn between the past and the present. New things happen in the town, and Elizabeth and Wynn find themselves keeping feelings to themselves.

I give the premiere two thumbs up! Five stars! Watch it! WATCH IT!

Did I say WATCH IT?! The two-hour Premiere is on Saturday the 25th on the Hallmark Channel at 8PM Eastern!
