The Biggest Story Review and Giveaway

Beautiful, Intriguing, Captivating

are the three words I’d use to describe The Biggest Story, a children’s Bible storybook authored by Kevin DeYoung and illustrated by Don Clark. This is a great book for beginner Bible students–a good way to gently introduce children to the Bible stories without overwhelming details. Children as young as five, I believe, who have never been introduced to the Bible before, could appreciate the story and the illustrations.

*Note: This book does not have quoted Scripture and does not follow any certain translation. It is simply a narration of several Bible stories, divided into chapters.

biggest-story-related-media2x-1The illustrations are very unique, very colorful, and captivating. They’re not your typical Bible storybook type of illustrations. Children who are of reading age would be able to sit down and read this book easily and would very likely enjoy looking at the pictures.

The Biggest Story would be a good read-aloud for Sunday School teachers, Children’s Church, or other children’s ministries as well as for home use.

The hard cover includes a dust jacket and a ribbon for marking pages, like you might find in a Bible. No need for a bookmark for this book!

biggest-story-related-media2x-3I don’t support using Bible storybooks as a replacement for the Bible. This book would be a good resource to use in conjunction with a good Sunday School curriculum or to be used as an introduction for new Bible pupils. Right now my Sunday School class is studying Adam and Eve, so it would be a good time for me to review the lessons we’ve studied by reading the chapter of Adam and Eve in The Biggest Story.

All in all, I recommend this storybook. 🙂
