Review: Point of Danger by Irene Hannon

Point of Danger, Irene Hannon’s newest Christian romantic suspense, is the first novel in the Triple Threat series.

“the package was ticking.”

Nice first line! The first chapter started with a bang (or, almost, as you’ll see in the first chapter), and I love great first lines that reel me right in.

About Point of Danger

Christian radio talk show host Eve Reilly ruffles feathers at times with her conservative views. Having never received threats of real intent, Eve was surprised when she came home one day to find a ticking package on her front porch.

Detective Brent Lange was assigned to investigate what turned out later to be a fake bomb. With no evidence left by the perpetrator, all Brent could do was watch and wait. But the more time he spent with Eve, the harder it was to guard his heart from the feelings she stirred in him.

My Thoughts

Irene Hannon effectively wrote multiple unique characters who all intrigued me: Eve with her strong conservative values, Brent with his good guy charm, Doug with his skirting danger when it came to his marriage, and Meg with her own troubled home life.

The tension in the story kept me reading. There are multiple possible “whodunit” characters, and Irene kept me guessing until the end.

Irene masterfully developed the characters in Point of Danger, and the plot of the story develops and flows smoothly. The story matter is relevant to today’s situations, and Irene effectively incorporates the dynamics of the conflict in a way that feels true to life.

I look forward to the second book of the series.

Point of Danger can be purchased on Amazon.
