Blood Moons Rising – A Tyndale Blog Review

Blood Moons Rising: Bible Prophecy, Israel, and the Four Blood Moons is a book written by Mark Hitchcock.Mark Hitchcock has, like many other end-times writers lately, taken a stance on how he feels about the four blood moons looming.Book DescriptionHas the final countdown to the end days begun? Are the heavens telling us we are nearing the end? Astronomers have noticed it is coming. Historians have noted its significance. In 2014 and 2015, there will be a phenomenon in the skies of four blood ...

A Promise in Pieces – a Litfuse Review

It isn't too often that I read a book that is . . . different. Different is a word that I use lightly, but I believe that there is probably a better word that I could use to describe how the story line captured me. Mold-breaking, perhaps?A Promise in Pieces is a novel from a series called Quilts of Love. Its author is Emily T. Wierenga, and it just so happens that this is Emily's debut novel.Book DescriptionIt’s been more than 50 years since Clara cared for injured WWII soldiers in the Women’s ...

Goldtown Adventures Series – a Kregel Review

I was given the opportunity to review two books written by Susan K. Marlow. The books are part of a series called Goldtown Adventures, and their titles are Canyon of Danger and River of Peril. These are children's books that are appropriate for ages eight through twelve, and since the main character is a boy, they would probably be most appreciated by boys, though I'm sure girls would enjoy them, too.Canyon of Danger is Book Number Three in the Goldtown Adventures series. You can read the first ...

Ch-ch-Changes!

Periodically, it's crossroads time. You know what I mean. I can't help but be sad when it comes, because I'm consistently indecisive by nature. The "what if's" always present themselves, and I get anxious that I'll choose the wrong path for myself. As I often tell my children, the decisions that I [or they] make affect everyone around me. Unless you live on a deserted isle with no one around you, your choices are going to have an impact. That can be bad, but it can also be good. I'm trying to ...

A Bride for Keeps – a Bethany House review

I love a good, Christian romantic western novel. Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, but I particularly love American westerns. This novel takes place post-Civil War.Julia Lockwood ran from her life in Massachusetts. After her father promised her to another man as a business pawn, Julia was deeply hurt and abused. After having the opportunity to becoming a mail-order bride to what an acquaintance promised was a wonderful man, Julia found it her last chance to get herself out of what ...

Costochondritis–Where do I stand?

It's been a long time since I gave an update solely talking about costochondritis. I've had a lot of emails since my last post, so I thought I'd give an update about what has been going on with it. I'm currently still dealing with costochondral pain. However, it comes and goes. Right now, we've got a cold patch going on and have had snow, and my ribs are bothering me. I can feel it in my back and my lower ribs if I press them. Currently, I'm in a good place. I no longer need to take Tylenol or ...

This is a good example for the use of the Oxford (serial) comma. What fun examples can you share?
Clearer prose. Stronger pacing. An elevated read.
I guess some good things must come to an end. Oh, the goofy jokes I’ve made with the message on this mug! Fun times. The message on the #coffeemug is quite fitting, don’t you agree? #peanuts Do you have a well-loved mug?
