Did you know that today is National Pet Day? Since I've been married, we've had our share of pets here--from hermit crabs to dwarf hamsters to African Clawed Frog, to fish of all kinds, and of course a dog. We no longer have pets of any kind, and it's primarily due to the fact that we have no room for cages, aquariums, etc. Our last pet was a Basenji mix named Winnie that I adopted from an animal shelter in 1998. Boy, was she a joy. Let me tell you her story. My husband and I were married in ...

Grace of God DVD Review

The pastor, church caretaker Gerald, and church secretary Constance Sanderson work closely with Bill to make sure he has the resources that he needs to find the perpetrator. The Art of Losing Yourself by Katie Ganshert
Moving, Powerful, Vivid! This novel, hands down, has been one of the most moving and real novels I've ever read. Touching on real-life problems, like infertility and pregnancy loss, alcoholism, teen issues, marital problems, dementia . . . The Art of Losing Yourself is a book that will leave you feeling like you've met some people with real issues who are able to get through them, with the help of one another and their Maker. First and foremost, I love reading books like these, but I often ...
Echoes by Robin Jones Gunn
Sweet, quirky, and stirring... Those are the words that I'd use to describe Echoes. The story took place at the turn of the twenty-first century, and I loved the little journey back into time with the description of the main character learning about the internet and email. It brought fun little memories of my own. Lauren is such an easy to like character. She has some crazy things that happen to her that I can relate to, like a hair catastrophe at a salon. Been there, done that! I enjoy when ...
Review of The Perfect Blend

Marie was desperate to have a child, and Slade was desperate to have a wife. The story was fairly well ...
