Review: Flee the Darkness by Carol J. Post

Flee the Darkness, Carol J. Post‘s newest release, is a Christian romantic suspense. The first novel in the Harmony Grove series, Flee the Darkness exceptionally portrays the flight, fear, and panic of Melissa Langston as she desperately seeks to flee a vicious stalker.

About Flee the Darkness

Melissa only wants to live a normal life, and she can’t help that her ex-boyfriend Eugene is a psycho. After cutting ties with her ex, then filing a restraining order against him, Melissa decides to leave Atlanta behind. She heads to Harmony Grove with a new last name, a new address, and a new job.

What she didn’t expect was to be reunited with her cheating, lying ex-boyfriend Chris Jamison.

Chris, a Memphis cop, is in town to take care of his late father’s estate matters in Harmony Grove. Learning that his ex was living in town put to bed the nagging question he’d had about whether he should put down roots in his old hometown and take over his dad’s business. Now, there was no question in Chris’s mind—he could never live in the same town with Melissa.

But when evidence of a stalker plagued Melissa once again, they found themselves working together to bring about justice.

My Thoughts

I’ve read several of Carol’s novels throughout the years, and her writing always amazes me. Carol is a wonderful storyteller, and she makes writing look easy. She develops unique character personalities in a way that feels organic and individualistic. The building of plot is fluid, and the storyline moves through my mind like scenes of a movie.

What I additionally appreciate about Carol’s writing is that she is able to exquisitely develop suspense and intrigue while knitting a message of faith and hope subtly, yet powerfully.

As I seem to always say, if you’re looking for a clean, lightly romantic, suspenseful read, give Carol J. Post a look. You might just decide to make some space on your bookcase for her books . . . like I have. 🙂

About Carol

Carol J Post Reunited by Danger

From medical secretary to court reporter to property manager to owner of a special events decorating company, Carol’s resume reads as if she doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up. But one thing that has remained constant through the years is her love for writing. She currently pens fun and fast-paced inspirational romance and romantic suspense stories. Her books have been nominated for a RITA® award and an RT Reviewers’ Choice Best Book Award.

Carol lives in sunshiny Central Florida with her husband, who is her own real-life hero, and writes her stories under the shade of the huge oaks in her yard. Besides writing, she works alongside her music minister husband singing and playing the piano. She enjoys sailing, hiking, camping—almost anything outdoors. Her two grown daughters and grandkids live too far away for her liking, so she now pours all that nurturing into taking care of a fat and sassy black cat and a highly spoiled dachshund.
